“Billie and FINNEAS have written an incredibly powerful and moving song for No Time To Die, which has been impeccably crafted to work within the emotional story of the film,” said Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the producers of No Time To Die.

“There are a chosen few who record a Bond theme. I am a huge fan of Billie and FINNEAS. Their creative integrity and talent are second to none and I cannot wait for audiences to hear what they’ve brought – a fresh new perspective whose vocals will echo for generations to come,” said director Cary Joji Fukunaga.

Eilish said, “It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way. To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honour. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock”.

FINNEAS adds. “Writing the theme song for a Bond film is something we’ve been dreaming about doing our entire lives. There is no more iconic pairing of music and cinema than the likes of Goldfinger and Live And Let Die. We feel so so lucky to play a small role in such a legendary franchise, long live 007.”

Meanwhile, IMAX has revealed its all-new exclusive artwork for No Time To Die, the first ever to be shot with IMAX® film cameras. Season 2 Of The Epic Korean Zombie Series Kingdom Confirmed To Premiere On March 13

11:44:00 AM

SEOUL, February 6, 2020 - Netflix has confirmed that the highly-anticipated season 2 of its Korean original series Kingdom is set to premiere globally on March 13, unveiling the main poster and an accompanying motion key art.

An epidemic turns Joseon into hell on earth amid the ravages left by the ever-growing greed of the Cho family. In Kingdom season 2, Crown Prince Lee Chang continues his desperate, bloody struggle, with no one he can trust to help him.

The main poster depicts the main characters on a rooftop, fleeing from a flock of zombies who are growing exponentially in number. This scene recalls the shocking finale of season 1 - an imminent onslaught by an army of zombies who, despite the break of dawn, do not fall back to sleep in the daytime as they had before. The tagline, ‘Blood Will Spill’ foreshadows the increasing terror experienced by those running for their lives and running out of options. Each character’s face is marked by hopeless desperation, but they are all determined to survive the agonizing struggle that awaits them in season 2 of Kingdom.

The accompanying motion key art depicts the main characters: Crown Prince Lee Chang, Cho Hak-ju, Seo-bi, Mu-yeong, Yeong-sin, Beom-pal, and the Queen. Joining the cast this season is the head of the Royal Commandery Division, Min Chi-rok. Lee Chang is tougher now and more determined, as he fights to protect his people from the growing legions of zombies. Cho Hak-ju continues to be power-hungry, while Seo-bi is on the brink of a breakthrough with the resurrection plant. Mu-yeong is still steadfastly looking after Chang, and Yeong-sin is fiercer than ever. Not to be forgotten are the terror-stricken Beom-pal and the Queen with her perpetual deadpan expression. Season 2 ramps up the tension with the introduction of Min Chi-rok, who investigates a suspicious murder in Hanyang. Kingdom season 2 continues to captivate with the story of Lee Chang’s journey back to Hanyang in search of the roots of the plague and the bloody struggle instigated by the secret plot at the heart of power in Joseon-era Korea.

The First Trailer of "Minions 2" Traces "The Rise of Gru"

11:39:00 AM

This July, from the biggest animated franchise in history and global cultural phenomenon, comes the untold story of one 12-year-old’s dream to become the world’s greatest supervillain, in Minions 2: The Rise of Gru.

Check out the film’s newly-launched trailer and watch the film in Philippine cinemas July 1st.

In the heart of the 1970s, amid a flurry of feathered hair and flared jeans, Gru (Oscar® nominee Steve Carell) is growing up in the suburbs. A fanboy of a supervillain supergroup known as the Vicious 6, Gru hatches a plan to become evil enough to join them. Luckily, he gets some mayhem-making backup from his loyal followers, the Minions. Together, Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto—a new Minion sporting braces and a desperate need to please—deploy their skills as they and Gru build their first lair, experiment with their first weapons and pull off their first missions.

When the Vicious 6 oust their leader, legendary fighter Wild Knuckles (Oscar® winner Alan Arkin), Gru interviews to become their newest member. It doesn’t go well (to say the least), and only gets worse after Gru outsmarts them and suddenly finds himself the mortal enemy of the apex of evil. On the run, Gru will turn to an unlikely source for guidance, Wild Knuckles himself, and discover that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.

Teeming with Illumination’s signature subversive humor, pop-culture sophistication, full-hearted emotion, bold music sensibility, and over-the-top action, Minions 2: The Rise of Gru features a thrilling new cast of stars, including, as members of the Vicious 6, Taraji P. Henson as cool and confident leader Belle Bottom, Jean-Claude Van Damme as Jean Clawed, Lucy Lawless as Nunchuck, Dolph Lundgren as Svengeance and Danny Trejo as Stronghold. The film also features Russell Brand as Dr. Nefario, an aspiring mad scientist, Michelle Yeoh as Master Chow, an acupuncturist with mad Kung Fu skills, and Oscar® winner Julie Andrews as Gru’s maddeningly self-absorbed mom.

Steered by the franchise’s original creators, Minions 2: The Rise of Gru is produced by visionary Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborators Janet Healy and Chris Renaud. The film is directed by returning franchise filmmaker Kyle Balda (Despicable Me 3, Minions), co-directed by Brad Ableson (The Simpsons) and Jonathan del Val (The Secret Life of Pets films), and features the iconic voice of Pierre Coffin as the Minions and a killer ʼ70s soundtrack courtesy of legendary Grammy-winning music producer Jack Antonoff.

Jim Carrey is Dr. Robotnik, the Drone King in "Sonic The Hedgehog"

11:18:00 AM

Comedy superstar Jim Carrey plays Dr. Robotnik, the Drone King (and Wannabe Master of the Universe) in Paramount Pictures’ live-action adventure comedy Sonic the Hedgehog (in Philippine cinemas February 19).

(Watch the film’s new spot here.)

Sonic the Hedgehog is based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog from another world.  The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of his new life on Earth with his newfound – and human – best friend Tom (James Marsden).  Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination.

For Jim Carrey, Robotnik provided the opportunity to return to his legendary film comedy roots and, he says, “hit that absurd energy that people really love – and the vibe of films like Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber.  Playing Robotnik, I just let the floodgates open!”

The actor was delighted to take on the challenge of playing the not-so-good doctor. “The wonderful thing about Robotnik is that he’s not only the smartest man in the room, he’s the smartest man on the planet – a madman with an I.Q. over 300,” Carrey states.  “He represents pure intelligence that’s been screwed up by ego and has moved into the realm of spiritual stupidity.  Robotnik was never loved or nurtured, so he hates the world because he feels it had abandoned him.  Robotnik wants to be the warden of a mechanized prison that controls the universe.  It was wonderful to physicalize that evil and act as if there’s always a spotlight on him.”

That physicality crescendos with a wild, edgy dance sequence in which Robotnik celebrates his relentless pursuit of Sonic and what he sees as the inevitable capture and harnessing of the creature’s unlimited power.  It’s set to the song “Where Evil Grows” from the Canadian band Poppy Family.  “I grew up with that song,” says the native Canadian, “and it’s perfect for Robotnik.

“I had so much fun with that, and with the entire film,” Carrey adds.  “I got to play with weird and wonderful gizmos in Robotnik’s lab and fly around in his spaceship, on a crane.”  He also admits to having great affection for his on-screen nemesis: “Sonic represents the power of innocence and play.  He’s a pure soul who’s loving his life because there’s always fun to be had, which is also my philosophy.  I wake up every day and do what I’m passionate about.”

Director Jeff Fowler, having developed a great affection for the character at an early age, was thrilled to have Carrey aboard.  “Reimagining Robotnik was a little tricky because in the game he’s, well, not the most grounded figure.   Jim and I found a way to make Robotnik more modern and believable, while still being bigger than life.  Jim really helped shape Robotnik, through his vocalizations and movements.  I am so grateful for his input and creativity.  Jim is smart, funny, and completely original.  He made the character his own.”

Michael Pena is the Iconic Mr. Roarke in "Blumhouse's Fantasy Island" (Opens Feb 12)

11:14:00 AM

At the center of the new suspense thriller Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island is the enigmatic Mr. Roarke, the white-suited steward of an island where fantasies come to life. He has welcomed the island’s guests, all with distinct fantasies, to come to the island where they will live out their dreams, but also with the promise and the warning: the results may not be what was intended.

(Watch the film’s new spot here.)

Michael Peña, last seen in the live-action film Dora and the Lost City of Gold, plays Mr. Roarke. He was also recently in Clint Eastwood's The Mule and the critically acclaimed anthology series Narcos: Mexico on Netflix.

“What I love about what Michael Peña did with the role is that he feels both contemporary and timeless. I can’t think of another actor who could have pulled that off,” says director Jeff Wadlow. “We wanted to keep him in the shadows at first, to make him feel mysterious and elusive, then over the course of the film, pull back the layers and play with the audience’s understanding of Roarke – sometimes he’s funny, sometimes he’s sinister, sometimes he’s curt, sometimes he’s overly formal. There’s a large section of the film where the audience might wonder if Roarke is malevolent, that he somehow wants bad things to happen to these people. They’ll be asking, hopefully, ‘Why would he want that, is he trying to teach them a hard lesson?’ We always want to keep the audience on their toes and keep them wondering, what is this guy’s deal?”

Wadlow also notes that for much of the film, Roarke’s relationship with the island is opaque. “Is the island his, or is he part of the island? I think that relationship starts to become significant as the film progresses. We begin to question the power dynamic as the island starts to manifest as a character itself.”

“Roarke is on his own journey with Fantasy Island,” says Peña. “He has one particular rule, which is to see each fantasy through to its natural conclusion. And he warns that fantasies often do not play out the way they are envisioned. Throughout, it’s not clear – what is Roarke’s relationship to the island. Who is the true orchestrator of the fantasies, Roarke or the island itself? Is Roarke the island’s steward, like he claims – or does he control the island? Or is he actually part of the island, a manifestation of it?”

Peña says that he couldn’t help but take some inspiration from Ricardo Montalbán’s legendary portrayal of Mr. Roarke in the original TV series from which the movie was based. “That performance is so cemented in my imagination, in my recollection, my memories,” he says.

Part of the reason for that cementation, Peña notes, is perhaps that he is an American of Mexican descent and looked to Montalbán, a Mexican actor, in solidarity. “I did it just a little bit like he did – it’s not an imitation, it’s a personalization of things that he did. Number one was the accent, with Montalbán being Mexican. I had just finished doing ‘Narcos,’ where I spent eight months in Mexico City; it’s a very distinct accent that they have – a Spanish accent when they speak English – that I found fascinating.”

In Philippine cinemas February 12, Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island is distributed by Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International.  Use the hashtag #FantasyIslandMovie
