Miriam Launches Sequel To “Stupid Is Forever” On 70th Birthday

4:57:00 PM
Barely half a year since the launch of the phenomenal bestseller “Stupid is Forever,” Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago and ABS-CBN Publishing release a second “stupid” book. After selling more than 350,000 copies, Sen. Santiago is back with a sequel that is packed with more jokes, clever one-liners, silly pick-up lines, stirring speeches and, even, a short story.

Titled “Stupid is Forevermore,” the book promises to give her fans more reasons to love her on her 70th birthday.

The much awaited book is divided into several topics including politics, religion, morality and romance. “Stupid is Forevermore” definitely reflects, once again, the eloquence and wit of the beloved senator.

But aside from the lighthearted quips, the book also takes a serious tone through the moving speeches by the senator during various occasions. In one of the speeches, Miriam points out how the youth can be participative through social media. She urges young people to be critical about the political process and to use the power of social media to be vocal against corrupt politicians.

Stupid is Forevermore also features entertaining illustrations from some of the country’s best young illustrators like Adam David, Andrew Drilon, Apol Sta. Maria, Josel Nicolas, Eugene Madayag, Julius Villanueva and more.

At 70, Miriam remains one of the most feared senator in the country, yet the most admired person across generations because of her cool charisma and intellect.

As a decorated scholar and public servant, Miriam adds another accomplishment in her resume as the author of the fastest best-selling book of 2015, “Stupid is Forever.”

“Stupid is Forevermore” is now available in all National Book Store branches nationwide.

Gloc-9 and Vinci Montaner drop some dancing in “Businessman”

5:53:00 AM

Gloc9PRpic

Anyone who has watched Gloc-9 at a live gig would know that one of the most well-received songs that get audiences on their feet is one of his oldest, telling us all to move our bodies and dance, to lighten the load of life.

On his 17th year in the music business, and after seven full length all-original albums, Gloc-9 goes back to some dance rap, bringing with him Vinci Montaner of Parokya Ni Edgar. Montaner has taken a breather from band life, but said yes to “Businessman,” a dance tune that speaks of an uncanny love between a rich girl and a poor boy, and how this difference is bound by nation that allows this disparity.

The rest of the song speaks of the unbelievable breadth of the girl’s wealth, with rooms full of money that isn’t counted and wallets are only for one thousand bills, where cars are a plenty and food is laid out on the dining table like there’s always a party. The girl is does not question how this money is earned, and where it comes from – her father is in a business that earns them billions.

In that world where everything’s served her on a silver platter, this girl wishes for what she has not experienced: to ride public transport and get her hands on some change, to try doing the laundry. The boy is enamored with her, surprised at the everyday things the girl wants to experience, where the things that are new to her is a way of life for him.

Yet “Businessman” is no easy love song, as it is one that’s layered with such a huge disparity between the rich girl and poor boy, that one can only wonder: what business is the girl’s father in, that allows him such wealth?

“Businessman” featuring Vinci Montaner will be launched on MYX on October 17 2014, Friday at 6:00PM. The music video features Winwyn Marquez. “Businessman” is part of Gloc-9’s DVD release “Biyahe ng Pangarap” to premier in November.

Introducing: G.I. Jane Collection by BUM

MANILA, Philippines – On Monday, September 22, BUM Equipment will unveil its launching of G.I. (Girl It’s) Jane collection named after one of its youth brand ambassador Jane Oineza, who is fresh from her successful third finish in a recently concluded Pinoy Big Brother All In Edition, a hit reality show of ABS-CBN Channel 2.

BUM’s move to provide Oineza with a collection named after her does not just spotlight the young star’s crowd-drawing potentials, but as an inspiration to the youth of today to be uniquely strong and brave amidst any criticism.

There are two categories for this particular collection—The Statement Shirts and the Skater Tops with Skirts.

Jane Oineza’s Statement Shirts

Once there was this quote that perfectly describes Jane, “It’s hard to be yourself in a world that wants you to be like them.” But when she was just one of the housemates, she was brave enough to hold onto what she strongly believed in. Thus, the statement shirts were born.

The statement shirts texts will read: ‘I am Misunderstood’, ‘I’m Real’, and ‘I am Stronger’, respectively and are all printed on black shirts. These speaks of Oineza’s transformation for the past months, which truly defines ‘who’ she is as an individual, as a young talented celebrity.

Oineza, being a youth brand ambassador is a reflection of a young woman who is brave enough to face all the critics and stay true to herself, no matter what.

This collection will be the first one to come out in the market on the said mentioned date and can be purchased at all BUM boutiques nationwide.

Jane’s Skater Tops and Skirts

Being a young lady, apart from being a celebri-TEEN, she prefers the preppy look. Jane is the ideal image who projects that aura of a ‘privileged’ lifestyle. She stays simple and fresh-looking with her choice of clothing combining it with the accessories without overpowering her real personality, that’s what she is.

As young lady who just blossomed after celebrating her 18th birthday inside the PBB House, Jane Oineza along with BUM, a thriving brand apparel is launching three variants of skater tops and skirts under the G.I. Jane collection as well.

Though black in theme, the Skater Skirts comes in three designs; black skull print, white skull print and diamond pattern print. While G.I. Jane skater tops are spandex long sleeves with accentuations to differ one tops from the other. These items can be bought in pairs or can be bought separately.

The said girly-themed collection will soon be available in November this year. Also, these will be exclusively available in all SM department stores.

Jane Thoughts on these Collections.

“I am excited with the collection. And it truly is me. It spells out who I am on and off camera,” Jane shares.

The collections are something that any young lady would grab and own several pieces because of its message and the design. The G.I. Jane collections do not just reflect Jane’s personality but can be identifiable by any female growing up in the world of ‘peer pressures’ and stay committed to her ideals and do not conform to the standards dictated of the ‘world’ around her.

“I do hope that even with the line of clothing via BUM, I can be a living testimony to girls out there to standout and not just be one of the many girls corrupted by any sort of ideals.”
